Due to flooding our regular runs are CLOSED as is River Junction Access(you can still pick up a canoe and take it to a lake though! For your outdoor recreation take a relaxing canoe trip ( 1 or more days ) while paddling the Iowa river with your friends and family. You can stop and fish on our main route while camping overnight along the beautiful Iowa River. There are no dams all the way to the Mississippi River after the Burlington Street dam in Iowa City. All trips should be figured at approximately 9 miles of river for every three to four hours of paddling time depending on which river you are paddling. Paddling time can be shortened/lengthened by the frequency and length of stops, high/low water conditions etc. This approximation will cover most paddling scenarios.
Don't forget to take along your camera ( in a water proof bag ) in case you want to get a few pictures of the abundant wildlife that you may see as you lazily float down the river.
